"According to njodes, mantled often shows clear area inside dark patch on rear wings. Also, patch on common (if present) doesn't usually extend to nodus"
Note: njodes is a website that no longer works unfortunately. This may not be a solid character though since it seems like there's some overlap in wing markings between mantled and common baskettails.
