Pupae - Feltia subterranea

Pupae - Feltia subterranea
Alameda County, California, USA
September 26, 2010
Size: 18.5 mm each
Found while turning soil in vegetable bed, near each other and about 2 inches (5 cm) below surface. Washed for photography; reburied in container for further observation.

They were quite lively, flopping around when I tried to pose them on a paper towel.
