Found on my deck this morning. - Cyphoderris monstrosa - Female
Prince George, British Columbia, British Columbia, Canada
September 27, 2010
Size: 1.5 inches
Very docile this morning, perfectly happy to be relocated from the floor of my deck to the rail where it stayed all day until I came home. Will be interesting to see if its still there in the morning!

It sure didn't
That's happened a few times recently. Not sure why. Anyway, based on the location, the species identification you made looks to be the proper one, and that's where it was headed when it apparently diverted back to the hanger. Thanks

It didn't move far :)
Since I'm not sure where you wanted to move it, I'll leave it here for now.

Maybe...
Great Grig (Cyphoderris monstrosa):

Let's see if anyone else agrees.

Welcome to BugGuide!

Great Grig
That's definitely him/her. We're lucky enough to live in a forest area, but (part from two bears during the summer) this is our first visit by the forest wildlife!!

Thanks very much for your quick response Ken, I'll be keeping my eyes open for anything else interesting.
