It resembles a phalacrid.
I wish we could see its head and antennae.

Coccinellidae.
We've ruled out lady beetles because...? I'd vote for a species of Scymnus. Many species have the hind portion of the elytra pale. Remember the vast majority of coccinellids are very small.

the walking image most helpful.
You can see the clubbed antennae typical of the scymnines, and also the falsely 3-segmented tarsi --> Coccinellidae --> Diomus terminatus (right next to Scymnus).

Lady Beetle
After I took the walking picture, it looked a little like a lady beetle, but it wasn't like the ones I've seen before. Thanks Don and Eric. :-)
