I still don't know exactly what this is. I now have another one too, a bit bigger that this one. Anyone know? Thanks so much!

Well...
... the overall shape and posture make me think Schizura , but the colors don't look like any species I'm familiar with. There might be western species not represented in the guide, or this could just be an abberant individual, or I could be way off. :-)

 
Oh, another thing . . .
mine doesn't have the hump in the middle of the back like the image you posted. Could THAT make it something different as well?

 
I thought so too,
but like you said, the color doesn't match. The one I photographed is eating leaves of our Thorny Hackberry tree. Does that help or make a difference?
