Size: 1/4 inch
Is this a Diptera cocoon or Lep? I.D. please. On side of wall after storm, adult had emerged. Cocoon empty. THANK YOU!!

Might be
a Bagworm Moth. Here's one that looks at least superficially similar:



That's strictly speculation on my part, though, and I'm sure there are other possibilities. Let's wait for some additional opinions.
