Tree Cricket - Oecanthus californicus

Tree Cricket - Oecanthus californicus
Bradshaw Ranger District, Prescott National Forest, Yavapai County, Arizona, USA
August 14, 2009
Perhaps laying eggs in the dry plant stem?

Dry wash riparian habitat with Boxelder Maple, willow, cottonwood, within mosaic of chaparral, pinyon - juniper woodland & Ponderosa Pine firest. Elevation: ~5600Ft. (1705m).

Moved
Moved from Tree Crickets. Overall brown color with reddish head and black antennae = brown form of californicus.

Still looking for a photo of the pictipennis form, and this TC was found in a juniper area, bit referring to SINA's photos, it appears the pronotum and femurs would be green.
