West Texas Centipede - Scolopendra heros
Near Devils River State Wildlife Management Area, Val Verde County, Texas, USA
September 29, 2010
Size: 7 inches x 1.5 inches
Saw two of these centipedes out and about during the day. Wondering if it's unique to west Texas?

West Texas Centipede
Just found one in my bed, crawling just a few inches from my nose as I lie watching TV. About as big as I have seen here in the Amarillo area, 6 1/2 inches long. Never have I jumped so high.
