Lachesilla kola Sommerman - Lachesilla kola
San Angelo, Tom Green Co. County, Texas, USA
October 2, 2010
Size: 2.2 mm
Found in dead branches of chinaberry with persistent dried brown leaves. Hypandrium appears 2-segmented; phallosome 2 asymmetrical rods, the left one curved and bent into a "J" shape at the anterior end; 2 stout terminal projections from the hypandrium. The forewings of this specimen show more extensive pigment than Fig. 617 (Mockford, 1993) but the male genitalia is so distinctive that I feel confident about this identification.
