Celery Looper - Anagrapha falcifera

Celery Looper - Anagrapha falcifera
Montpelier, Washington County, Vermont, USA
October 5, 2010
Several individuals of this species found feeding at New England Aster in the fields at North Branch Nature Center. Flight was very fluttery, and the moths often seemed to flutter or shake as they began feeding. Any ID help would be much appreciated... I may try to go back out and get a better ventral shot later this afternoon.

I see these guys all the time, but they never stop fluttering long enough to get such a beautiful photo! Nice work!

Thanks!

Can't help with ID,
but this is a lovely picture!

Noctuid?
A friend suggested I check noctuids. The closest match I could find is Anagrapha falcifera but the shape of the body seems a bit off. I think I'm getting closer though...
