Callobious Severus?

Callobious Severus?
Gig Harbor, Pierce County, Washington, USA
September 1, 2005
Size: Inch
I have seen these guys around here all my life, and don't know alot about them. I was bitten by one at about age 4 (While attacking it with a toy tank...), and remember the bite was quite painful.
I think it is a Callobius Severus from the limited info I have found, but my Grandfather always called them "Madrona Spiders", as they like to nest in wood piles and under loose bark.
They are big and powerful looking, with large pronounced fangs, yet generally seem pretty timid (unless attacked with tanks). Any info at all would be appreciated.
