Hemlock Looper - Lambdina fiscellaria

Hemlock Looper - Lambdina fiscellaria
Town of Baileys Harbor, Hidden Corners Sanctuary, Door County, Wisconsin, USA
September 18, 2001
Adult came to night light. ID from specimen. Colors of this species vary.

Species variation?
Janice, would you care to look at the other specimens listed as Lambdina fiscellaria? They look so different from yours. I know nothing about moths but find it hard to believe that all four belong to the same species. Your comments would be appreciated.

Handsome
What a handsome species! First time I have seen a photo of this one.
