Size: about 2 inches
Seeking confirmation of the ID of these caterpillars. I am thinking Xylophanes tersa, caterpillar of the Tersa sphinx moth but I am unsure. Two additional photos below.

Thanks for the comments. I forgot to add that the caterpillars were feeding on a penta flower. I don't have any idea about the symbolism.

What a picture!
It seems to have some kind of hidden symbolism but I can't figure out what. Any guesses?
