Large Spider in Front Yard - Argiope trifasciata

Size: half dollar or larger
The spider built its web on some ornamental grass. It was out in the full sun around 2 in the afternoon.

looks like a Banded Argiope aka Banded Garden Spider

Yes the top does look like that. Some small black dots that run parallel on its top like the 6 dots on a dice cube, but I think there are 8.
