This is a close up of the female's left elytron showing its short recurved pubescence. The small slightly darker patch in the upper right corner of the left elytron, as see in the image of the pinned female is centered in this view.

Technical Note: This image was derived from a stack of 137 images with a 5.6 micron increment taken with a Nikon CFI60 10X 0.25NA microscope objective + Nikon 200mm F4 ED-IF macro lens + Nikon D300 camera (technique described here), and processed with CombineZP software.
