Riley, E.G. 2020. A new species of Monoxia LeConte, 1865 (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae: Galerucini) from the coast of southern Texas, USA. The Pan-Pacific Entomologist, 96(3): 189-196.

Abstract

A new species of leaf beetle, Monoxia andrewsi sp. nov. (Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae: Galerucini) from the coast of southern Texas, USA, is described and illustrated. The new species is compared to M. elegans Blake, 1939, the most-similar described species. It is associated with Atriplex (Amaranthaceae) growing adjacent to coastal saline habitats.

Abstract

The genus Erynephala Blake, 1970 is reviewed based on linear morphometry and a morphological study. A cladistic analysis of the genus based on morphological characters is also presented.
The results demonstrate that Erynephala brighti Blake, 1970 is synonym of Erynephala maritima (LeConte 1865), and that

ABSTRACT

An examination of leaf beetle specimens (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) in the largest beetle collections in Kentucky, recent inventory work in state nature preserves and other protected areas, and a review of the literature revealed thirty species of the tribes Galerucini and Luperini (Subfamily Galerucinae) present in Kentucky, thirteen of which are previously unreported for the state.

ABSTRACT

An annotated list, including information on type species, distribution, and number of species, is provided for all of the non-flea-beetle galerucine genera known to occur in the New World (tribes Galerucini, Metacyclini, and Luperini). A diagnostic key to the genera is provided. Habitus illustrations are provided for most genera.
