UIB - Un Identified Bug - Xylophanes tersa
St. Augustine, Anastasia State Park, St. Johns County, Florida, USA
October 14, 2010
Size: 1 to 1.5 inches
When I first saw this insect I thought it was a dead leaf blown up against the screening in the bath house at Anastasia State Park. On further investigation I discovered it was an insect. The body looks like it was made of wood and polished.

a Tersa Sphinx Moth.

It has HWs
but just holds them flush with the FWs
