There was a colony underbark, a number of little holes in the wood that seemed to be theirs. Rhizophagus sayi?

I would assume so. Combine th
I would assume so. Combine the two pairs of spots on the elytra and what I think are spines on the mid-tibia, and it looks like you have a R. sayi here.
