This is a "Skipper", Family Hesperiidae
These are often considered butterflies, or at least classified under the umbrella of "butterflies & Skippers".

The antennae are clubbed like that of butterflies but typically terminate in that hook-like projection from the tip.

There are quite a few species here in the Southeast and I'm not familiar enough to give a species id for this one. Perhaps one of the Lep people will recognize it.
