Mayfly - Caenis

Mayfly - Caenis
Memramcook, New Brunswick, Canada
June 14, 2009
Size: Unknown

An opportunistic shot of a mayfly which landed on my car window. Unfortunately, no size reference. Can anybody narrow down the possibilities?

Moved from ID Request.

looks like a fem. Caenis to me

Thank you.
Thank you.

Yes, Caenis, a female based on short tails, and a subimago based on the non-wettable hairs visible on the trailing edge of wings. Incidentally, this photo provides an unusually good view of the tail ends, which are often obscured by a white background, lack of focus, etc.

Thank you.
Thank you.
