We had rain last night, and recently overseeded our lawn with rye seed and manure for the winter. I wonder if it was the manure that attracted it.

Thank you, I just was going through the images of other moths, and found that it is a Rustic Sphinx. I have lived in AZ for a long time and never saw one. We put in an Olive tree recently do their larvae feed on them? If not, any ideas on what they eat?
