Rustic Sphinx (Manduca rustica) - parasitized - Manduca rustica

Rustic Sphinx (Manduca rustica) - parasitized - Manduca rustica
Naples, Collier County, Florida, USA
October 19, 2010
Size: 2 in.
Found four of the caterpillars on Duranta erecta 'Sapphire Showers'. My inital thought is Tobacco Hornworm (Manduca sexta) parasitized by braconid wasps. The yellow spikes on the head and the green horn make me not so sure. I noticed the true legs were also of a different color than what I could find on BugGuide.
