Knullia? - Elaphidion mucronatum

Knullia? - Elaphidion mucronatum
Vero Beach, Indian River County, Florida, USA
April 4, 2006

Moved
Moved from Elaphidion.

No.
Longhorns are hard! This is something like Elaphidion. The spines on the antennae, and at the tip of the elytra, will help ID it positively.

Thanks
You are probably right. I was just looking at the spines on the elytra. Knullia can be pretty similar if you dont notice the antennal spines.

maybe Elaphidion knulli
Closest I see is Elaphidion knulli. Other characters to differentiate this from Knulliana, besides the spines on the antenna are the more prominent ones on the elytral apices and lack of spines on the lateral margins of the pronotum.

I suggest...
...Elaphidion mucronatum, based on the relatively longer and recurved spine of antennomere 3. Vero Beach is also a little too far north for E. knulli.
