Lacebug Corythucha... - Corythucha associata

Lacebug Corythucha... - Corythucha associata
Oak Ridge, Guilford County, North Carolina, USA
June 7, 2010
Size: 3/16" long
These things are so small, very hard to photograph.
The shiny surfaces and transparency, plus the weird shapes and obscured head add to the difficulty.
Many on wild cherry. Not the best picture, but it shows the strange shape over the head.

Corythucha associata
Very nice and clear images. In contrast with the other cherry feeding lace bug, C. pruni (node #495351) C. associata has an extremely elevated hood, which we can clearly see in this nice shot of a lateral view, thanks for that Stan!

Thanks for the definite ID and kind words.
Maybe you are like me in sometimes wishing lacebugs were larger so
we could see them better.
