Slantface grasshopper on tall grass - Paropomala pallida - female

Slantface grasshopper on tall grass - Paropomala pallida - Female
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County, California, USA
October 14, 2010
Size: to wing tip ~21 mm
This slantface was seen in tall grass in Culp Valley, elevation about 3200'. At first we thought it might be an Opeia obscura, which we find in saltgrass at a lower elevation of about 2200', but it seems different. It is much more slender and elongate. We'll appreciate any help.
