Tiger Beetle Taxonomy

I'm confused about which family the tiger beetles are to be included in. I thought they were in the family Cincindelidae but I've also seen them included in the Carabidae in the subfamily Cincindelinae. What is the current status? TIA.

You can start on the Info page
here and read through the info pages as you move down through the taxonomy to see what we're doing here on BugGuide.

I should have thought of that
I should have thought of that myself. Thanks.

Carabidae: Cincindelinae
...has been the prevailing treatment over the last decades
