Platydracus vs. Xanthopygus
both are large and can have this color (at least among the species in rotting saguaro). Move to family level so Brunke or others will see it.

I am unable to find the sp. (looking for the author) I do find references to X. cactus, though. We found this one in cactus rot

Hi Margarethe,

The author of this species is Nordmann. Xanthpygus cacti was synonomized with the former, earlier name.
