Taxonomy Keroplatidae (Diptera: Sciaroidea)

Hi all,

the current used taxonomy of Keroplatidae is somewhat inconsequent. We need the subfamilies to include Macrocera properly. I would like to suggest adopting the taxonomy proposed in the world catalog of Keroplatidae by Evenhuis (2006)(1).

so long,

Extra layers
I don't think anything is incorrectly placed according to the catalog. There are missing intermediate levels.

The system requires family, genus, and species. I usually don't create extra intermediate levels that would contain only one lower level taxon, either because it is monotypic or because we only have photos from one genus in a tribe, family in a superfamily, etc.

OK......
Anyway, it looks somewhat weird to me having Macrocerinae togehter with Keroplatinae in one pool.

so long,

Reordered
I moved Macrocera out from between the two tribes of Keroplatinae (i.e. changed the order from alphabetic to taxonomic).

Thanks!
Looks quite better.

so long,
