The previous comment is correct; this is Apheloria virginiensis montana (Bollman), and it is a male as evidenced by the single pair of legs on segment 7. This yellow spotted color pattern is typical of A. v. montana, which occurs in the southern Appalachians of NC/GA and ranges westward into central Tennessee and central Kentucky. Note that the middorsal spots are small, discrete spots instead of larger, semilunar splotches.
