C. pseudacutipennis averages larger in size than C. acutipennis; also, it differs by having a distinct dark greenish luster. They are more readily separated by the anterior femoral tooth, which is obtusely rounded in C. acutipennis and acutely triangular in C. pseudacutipennis; and in the male by the outer segments of the antennae, which are uniformly metallic reddish above (testaceous and greenish-black below) in C. acutipennis, while in C. pseudacutipennis they are uniformly testaceous tipped with black.
