Stumped on this dragonfly - Arigomphus pallidus
Venice, Sarasota County, Florida, USA

Size: about 2 inches
I've never seen one like this before. Is it maybe a new one that doesn't have it's color yet? I would have gotten a better photo but when I walked to the edge of the pond I almost stepped on an alligator. Scared the you know what out of me (and him) and I almost dropped my camera.

Arigomphus
This is one of the Arigomphus genus. At work, I don't have my lists, but I thought Florida had the Jade Clubtail which is what it looks like. They have the Gray-green also but from memory this looks too brightly marked for that species.

Okay Florida only has one Arigomphus, it is A. pallidus, the Gray-green. Has a large spring emergence peak.
