Bean Plataspid - Megacopta cribraria

Bean Plataspid - Megacopta cribraria
Spiderweb, Aiken County, South Carolina, USA
November 8, 2010
Size: ~5mm
Pretty sure this is a Bean Plataspid (Megacopta cribraria), found under an outside chair cushion. Id based on info here on BG and a Clemson University newsletter from Aug. 2010.

Verification or correction would be appreciated.

Expanding to South Carolina
This might be a good thing to report (if it hasn't already been done) to Clemson University Entomologist Jeremy Greene. An article about the spread of these creatures mentions the need for documenting this creature's spread.

Reported
Reported it the day I found it and figured out what it was.

From an e-mail from Dr. Greene:

"That is definitely the critter. Thanks for the report. We have them confirmed in 16 counties now in SC, mostly the upstate and down through Barnwell County."

yeah... reminds me of Eric Cartman
just think they manage to fly with this elegant, streamlined body...
