Unknown Fly? - Pollenia

Unknown Fly? - Pollenia
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
November 10, 2010
Size: 7/16"
It's getting cold up here - snow any day now! - and I found this little guy clinging to a corner of the sidewall on my balcony and it appeared to be suffering. I've been sick all week but I grabbed my camera and took these two (not very good) shots...a top view & a side view. In some ways it resembles an Early Tachinid Fly that I submitted awhile ago, but in other ways it's quite different. Would appreciate an ID.

Dead cluster fly
Looks like a Pollenia growing fungus.
