Bruce Spanworm? - Operophtera bruceata

Bruce Spanworm? - Operophtera bruceata
Montpelier, Washington County, Vermont, USA
November 9, 2010
Is this Operophtera bruceata? I don't know if there are other similar species that would be flying this late. I've seen Bruce Spanworm here at North Branch Nature Center before. In 2008 we saw them flying on November 24 and in 2007 we saw a pair mating on November 14!

Moved from ID Request.

Yes
There is a similar species, the Autumnal Moth (http://bugguide.net/node/view/9737), but it has a terminal line made up of double dots, not single like on Bruce Spanworms.

Thanks!
Thanks so much for the ID assist and the accompanying explanation... next time I see these guys I'll know for sure what they are!
