Question...
I was going to move these images to the
Eristalis tenax - Drone Fly
page but then I noticed that none of the flies in the images there had eyes that almost touch at the top of the head like this one does. Is this significant? Are you still OK with me moving these images to that species page?

Sharp eyes! Still, you're good to go, Mardon
On many flies, males - like yours - have larger eyes that touch at top center. Witness:
To find out if that applies to a specific fly, go to the Images tab for that fly and roll your cursor over the images. If some thoughtful contributor indicated gender, you'll see it in a rollover.
