Another Seneca Rocks Pygmy Grasshopper - Paratettix cucullatus - Female
Seneca Rocks, Monongahela NF, Pendleton County, West Virginia, USA

To go with my earlier post, here is another Paratettix image from the same location, one year later (same time of year within two weeks). My earlier post is here:

Moved, and Thanks
Moved from Paratettix.

Thanks, David!

They are a little different from the average,
but P. cucullatus still seems the best fit. The details that seem slightly off (but probably just normal variation) are the weak lobing on the middle femur and the rather wide spacing between the eyes. I don't know of another species from that area that it could be though, unless Tetrix arenosa, which is rather similar.

I like the green on this one.
