Lined Flat Bark Beetle - Placonotus zimmermanni

Lined Flat Bark Beetle - Placonotus zimmermanni
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
April 9, 2006
Size: 2mm

Straight or nearly straight pronotal margins
such as on this beetle, combined with the flat underbark shape, indicate family Laemophloeidae.

Laemophloeidae: Placonotus zimmermanni
I did glance at all the Laemophloeus testaceus images. To the best of my knowledge that species isn't found in the Northeast, and the L. testaceus images may represent 2 or more species.

Oh good!
More species!

Laemophloeus testaceus
