blister beetle - Epicauta

blister beetle - Epicauta
Florida Canyon, Pima County, Arizona, USA
October 17, 2010
Size: 1.4 cm
Is it possible to get this further than Epicauta?

from J.D. Pinto:
"Can't be sure on this one with this view. It's a Caviceps Group species - and probably either E. rileyi or E. rehni. We need to know if there is a pit next to the eye (rileyi) or not (rehni). If I had to guess I'd say rehni. The two species often occur together, but rehni is relatively uncommon. "
