There are six named species of the genus Dypterygia in America north of Mexico.(3)
Size
Harvey (1875) listed a wingspan of 32 mm.
Identification
There are apparently two divergent color forms of this species, one mostly brown with various black streaks and crosslines,

the other almost entirely blackish with just a narrow buff inner margin on the FWs.
