Black-Legged Checker Beetle. Enoclerus nigripes nigripes (name taken from guide, not sure if correct)
Found in a short grassy clearing in the middle of a wooded area. I was walking though the clearing holding a bug net close to the ground trying to find a flower scarab that I was following when I noticed someting tiny crawling on the lip of the net. Took a few photos then it flew off...

Enoclerus nigripes
My opinion is that this is a Enoclerus nigripes. E. quadriguttatus has a more southern distribution. Also the subject in your photo has the concave arc pattern across the elytra that is characteristic of E. nigripes.

Could also be.......
Enoclerus quadriguttatus. See here.. I'm not sure how to tell the difference between the two. Does anyone know?

Actually I believe this is Enoclerus quadriguttatus. At least is looks right on to me. The guide page doesn't go deep enough so I put it at the Enoclerus level...

No problem, I just noticed that the date field doesn't automaticlly set to the date of the posting. It used to set automaticlly.. I'll add any relevent info I can provide.
