Bilateral Gynandromorph - Orthonama obstipata - Male Female

This is a fairly rare example of a Bilateral Gynandromorph, an animal that has male characters on one side and female characters on the other side. In this case we see a left side male wing pattern and right side female pattern. I thank James Adams at Dalton State Univ., GA, for confirming the status of this moth. Dr. Adams explains the condition on his website for Lepidoptera of Georgia.

I saw this in a deer once.
A kid I went to high-school with shot an eight point doe one year.
