Size: 1 inch
Gives a nasty sting and I've found some website report that it may carry Chagas Disease. Currently in research 11/25/2010

I suspect
Melanolestes picipes (Black Corsair)
Please crop your images close to "just the bug" Only you and the editors can see your full-size images. The large border adds no value and prevents others from viewing or possibly even IDing your images.

Max is right, this is Melanolestes picipes
only members of another subfamily, the Triatominae, are known to carry and transmit the agents of Chagas, but not in this country
