Tree fungus-covered log longhorn - Aegomorphus modestus

Size: about 13 mm
And here's the imago or adult, not yet hardened of fully colored. You can see a few shreds of pupal skin hanging off it. For some reason it has its wings unfurled.

sclerotization
The wings are probably unfurled for the sclerotization process to harden wings in the right position. It would be a bad scene if the wings were folded before they hardened.

Aegomorphus modestus
I think it's going to turn out to be Aegomophus modestus. What kind of log was it on? I've seen the adults on rotten birch but usually they are collected at light so it is great to get a definitive host record.
