Chrysomelidae - Colaspis brunnea

Chrysomelidae - Colaspis brunnea
Elkland, Dallas County, Missouri, USA
July 23, 2010
Size: 3.8 mm
I'm pretty certain this is a Chrysomelid, but I couldn't find a comparable photo on BG. It came to UV light this summer, which also seems unusual for Chrysomelids.

I'm liking the twin light combination of one diffuser and one naked.

Moved tentatively
Moved from Colaspis.

Color seems a bit darker than others on BG, but it keys out nicely using Blake's 1974 treatment on the costate species of Colaspis in North America.

Colaspis of sorts

Thanks! I passed over a picture of Colaspis because mine didn't have stripes, but the coloring and size are right.
