McDonough, Georgia, USA
April 12, 2006
Size: 1" to 1 1/2"
I tried to look and see if this moth was already ID'ed but when I did a search the photos did not match. The pattern in the wings was very different. This moth has a very bright yellow fuzzy body with pink and yellow wings. It also was fuzzy pink on the top part of the legs.

pink and yello fuzzy moth
WOW! This picture is one that I took in Hanover, MD. It was on the wall of the building I worked at. I just googled yellow and pink moth and checked out the pictures and came upon MY pictures! My post on facebook came up today because it was 7 years ago that I posted it on facebook. Not sure how it got on this page but that's pretty cool!

I was just on my front porch and saw this moth. I had never seen it before so I came in and searched and here it was. I live in Alton, VA which is near Danville and only about 1 mile from the NC border. I have hummingbird moths which are so cool but this was a new exciting find for me.

The moth
I just woke up four minutes ago to go show my dad the necklace I had been working on half the night and when I went back on the porch to go to my room I saw one of these moths on the door frame so I went and told my dad. I've never seen one of these before so I decided to look it up which brought me here.

Very beautiful!
I have never seen one of these before. I came home after a run to the store and found it by the front door. :)

I have one of these
I have one of these Lil guys on my outside light..I never saw one before..I am a decorator of sorts and this is up my ally on the different side. Thank you for posting so I know what it is.

pink and yellow moth
found this moth on my garage door,it's beautiful and I've never seen one..Got nice pictures..Thanks for info.
sending this from Maine.

It follows me around work
I found one of these moths at this hotel I work at in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania. I saw it laying on a wall in the shade. I was very curious as to the beauty in the two colors, I took two hotel plastic cups and showed everyone at work and then let the moth go back on the same spot on that wall and the next hour I found out that it still wanted to hang out with me, haha. The next day I saw the moth in front of a different room to wish me a good morning. I know it sound lame.
Whenever I picked it up, it started vibrating and buzzing on my right pinky, it made it go numb for a felt like a shock»touching an electric fence for less than a second.

I came home today and on my s
I came home today and on my screen door was this beautiful moth. I have never before seen this type of moth. My daughter was amazed with it's beauty as was I. Where do these type of moths come from? Are they rare? Does anyone know? Thanks

Beautiful pink and yellow moth
I was walking with my Mom and one of these beautiful moths landed on my shoulder tonight. I live in Pictou, Nova Scotia,CANADA. Its been chilly here and wet for the weather. First time I have ever seen one so I thought I would looke it up and found this site. Just wanted to share

I also live in Nova Scotia and recently saw one of these moths! I was coming out of the mall and in the pouring rain I found one of these practically drowning on the ground. I picked it up and took most of the water off of its back and blew on it a bit to dry off the wings, and then put it in a sheltered plant. Good thing my mother has patients. Haha, well there's my bug story.
I've never seen one around here before either, maybe they're a seasonal thing

Easter moth
Found this same moth today on Good Friday at my son's house and exclaimed, "It's an Easter Moth!!!" I took my grandson, Gabe, and the moth home-Even though it had been squished and its guts were leaking out. On the way home its wing began to vibrate and I thought the car was causing it until it started walking around everywhere in the car. Now it is on a primrose that matches it exactly and is completely camouflaged. It's little wing in straightening and will probably fly off soon!

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to spot one of these pretty moths then this morning we woke to find the front of our house had four more of them on it the light was hitting to bright and it was hard to take pics but my daughter even carried one around for an hour it just sat on her hand. I feel awfully lucky to have these little friends hanging out here maybe they will bring some luck since my daughter saved the one from being stepped on :)

Pink & yellow fuzzy moth
I am so delighted to have found this on the web. I have been searching off and on since April 1986. At that time, I had just lost custody of my 4 children in a very messy, ugly, divorce. As I sat at a desk in the basement of a friend's house that first evening, I found this beautiful moth on my window screen. It was so beautiful, and so unusual, that it felt like a tiny gift from heaven to comfort me, and I wept with joy. When I awoke the next morning, it was still there. It never left my window screen for 3 days and nights. Finally, on the 3rd day I went out and put it in a tiny glass jar. To my surprise, it was already dead. That was almost 25 years ago, and it still sits on my desk in the same little jar. One wing has fallen off, and the color has faded slightly, but it is still a constant reminder of our Father's love when we are in pain. Eventually I was reunited with my children, they are now all grown with children of their own, and all of the family relationships have been restored. God be praised! Tonight is the very first time I have been aware that anyone else had seen this particular moth. Thank you so very much for your postings!

pink/yellow fuzzy moth
I saw this moth for the first time this morning on my clematis in York PA. I'm glad someone identified it on this site previously so I could see some info - thanks!

Pink&yellow-Dryocampa rubicunda
I agree with everyone these moths are gorgeuos!I found my 3rd one today!

I want to try and figure out a way to help them. When they die they loose color! I have no idea how to help them. Except to try and coax him onto my finger. Then slowly walk to a more sheltered area where they won't get wet or eaten by a spider. I spent all winter rescuing Ladybugs,in between other things. I learned so much from this site, thank U !

Dryocampa rubicunda

Night photo (Flash)

Found one outside Twin Dragons in Brevard, NC last night!
We were both hungry, but when I saw this beauty I just had to "shoot" it with my trusty little Fuji F30 before we entered the restaurant!" Thanks to this forum I was able to identify it. Wish I knew the html to embed it here!
