Found in grass beside dead white oak.

since when those prefer blades of grass to good old dead stuff? must be under influ.

 
I've been finding a number of these each year, usually (I assume) looking for fungus under the dead oak tree's bark. I think this one went for a stroll, seeing what the rest of the neighborhood looks like - the remnant of the huge stump (4+ feet in diameter) is only about two feet away.
