Barynotus obscurus (Fabricius) - Barynotus obscurus

Barynotus obscurus (Fabricius) - Barynotus obscurus
Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval, Montmorency County, Quebec, Canada
Size: 9.0 mm
Nice robust Curculionidae of the subfamily Entiminae. I found it on the ground while making mouvements parallel to the ground with a shovel, on a small slope containing a great diversity of plants, at night.
Unfortunatly I have no collecting date for this one. It's a shame. I think it was during fall, september or october but I'm not sure. I know it hasn't got much scientific value as is right now but it is the only specimen I've got. I thought you might want to have it anyway. This make me want to go back there next summer and try to catch some more...with data this time!
