Fungus Weevil - Euparius marmoreus

Fungus Weevil - Euparius marmoreus
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
April 13, 2006
Size: 7.5mm

Anthribidae
Looks like a fungus weevil, Euparis marmoreus. I like these guys as they are one of the first beetles to emerge in the spring, kind of like seeing robins in the backyard. You can find them around old wood piles and sometimes they come to light.

Thanks Frank
Now I see I got one of these last year too. I guess my memory isn't as good when I stay up until 1:00 am doing this.

Rewarding.
Well, your late-night efforts are very rewarding to us gawkers. Hope you are as pleased with your work as the rest of us:-)
