Yellow-striped Armyworm - Spodoptera ornithogalli

Yellow-striped Armyworm - Spodoptera ornithogalli
Hoosier National Forest, Monroe County, Indiana, USA
October 5, 2009
I believe this is a Large Yellow Underwing (Noctua pronuba), but would like confirmation. Thanks!

Moved from ID Request.

I think so
but Spodoptera ornithogalli (Yellow-striped Armyworm Moth - Hodges#9669) can sometimes be close. I'm not sure if there are others.

No black spot
Thanks for your comment. I've ruled out Yellow-striped Armyworm because all the ones I've seen so far have a large black spot on the side of A1, which this individual doesn't seem to have. Thanks for the suggestion :)

looks like N. pronuba to me
I don't think this is Yellow-striped Armyworm either, for I rarely see those on the ground.
