This view shows the white stripe on the facial orbits, which is another character distinguishing female Apecthis from other Pimplini. In the males, the face is largely or completely white. Less noticeable, but visible upon careful scrutiny of the photo, is the indentation of the eye at the level of the antennal socket. This indentation is present in Apecthis and Itoplectis but not in Pimpla
